Using component parts in prints is a great way to work around plastic limitations. This penny is not a traditional component part, but it sure is cheap and readily available!
We designed and printed this 5' wide jet propellor for the entrance of an office building in Stamford, Connecticut. Over 300 print hours and 60+ parts (not including registration pins). Printed with Raise3d and Makerbot. The nose is sand blasted and the outer cowling is chromed, the rest are raw prints.
Having fun mixing faces and temples on our resin frames. What color combo would you go for? Come to the Formlabs Roadshow tonight to see our glasses in person and help us refine our prototypes to make the perfect custom glasses.
